We are proud to announce that we were awarded the Recognised Contributor Badge from EarthCheck.
We received it as a business which is part of a county that has achieved a Sustainable Destination Certification committed to well-managed tourism. It reflects that we have up-to-date third party business sustainability certifications and as such, highlights our contribution as a business to Clare’s sustainability journey.
The Recognised Contributor Badge originates from the long-standing sustainable tourism model of the
Burren Ecotourism Network and the Burren & Cliffs of Moher UNESCO Global Geopark Code of Practice. Every two years, we are being audited and certified by this Code of Practice.
The other certification comes from Bord Bía’s Origin Green.
Clare County Council was awarded EarthCheck Silver Certified achievement for 2024 for County Clare as a destination. Clare has become the first certified Sustainable destination in Ireland and the British Isles.
